CURRICULUM

Little Star of Ours uses the child-centered theory and philosophy.  The child-centered approach to learning encourages children to take learning into their own hands, as opposed to being directed or prompted by a teacher.  Children are responsible for choosing what they will explore and learn.  This enables teachers to watch interests develop to create an appropriate curriculum for each child.

The curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each child as individuals and as a group. Through a broad range of hands-on learning activities, we provide each student the opportunity succeed.  Little Star of Ours' curriculum aims to enhance traditional daycare methods while integrating extracurricular interests into one comprehensive program.  We learn and play through indoor and outdoor activities that include language, writing, dance, literacy, art, music, and cooking.

Our goal is to provide a learning atmosphere that creates independent thinkers where each child will grow socially, emotionally, and intellectually.  We look to foster school readiness skills through diverse learning experiences and early education.  Our curriculum is developmentally appropriate and will impact each child's ability to successfully learn and succeed as they enter kindergarten.
